Scrum@SAP (Christian Schmidkonz)
Scrum@SAP is a pilot project of the SAP AG for the introduction of Scrum as an agile project management methodology. In his presentation, Christian Schmidkonz first of all talks about the global challenges of the development of complete software solutions at SAP AG. Thereafter, a short introduction into the Product Innovation Lifecycle (PIL) and its core concepts follows. PIL is the process framework for standard development at SAP. The focus of the presentation is put on the results and experiences with how Scrum was executed in a heterogeneous, complex and international software project environment for development of standard software products. The presentation closes with an outlook on the next steps and activities concerning the implementation of agile methods at SAP.
About the speaker
Christian Schmidkonz joined SAP AG in 1994. He graduated in computer engineering and has gathered about 20 years of job experience as a developer, project lead and coach within the software industry by now. Furthermore, he managed the product development of easySolutions at eSAP, the former internet subsidiary of SAP.
Since 2002, the development architect has been responsible for the implementation of innovative concepts and methods at SAP. This comprises the project standard method for Ramp-Up Knowledge Transfer, methods for requirements engineering within the SAP standard product development frameworks and currently the introduction of agile methodologies at SAP.
